Eileen was born in a small village on the outskirts of Reyse to Ian and Maria Bell. Her sister Julia was less than thrilled to have a younger sibling around the house, as she was ten years old at the time and had gotten quite accustomed to being an only child.

Ian was a woodcutter, and spent most of his time out in the woods while Eileen and Julia spent most of their time with their mother. As the youngest, Eileen was assigned to make sure the eggs got in from the henhouse. She was always very proud of the fact that she had never broken one in all the years she had been gathering eggs.

They were really a very happy family. Of course, the siblings did have their squabbles, but usually it was settled very quickly.

In Eileen's 12th winter, her father did not come home one night. He had gone out that morning saying that he would be home early because it looked like it might snow. The village searched for him, and finally found him under a tree. "Accidents can happen," they all said, and tried their best to console the poor family.

It was hard for Maria to find work in that little village. Everything that she could do was already being done, so she decided to sell the things they had and try to find work closer to Reyse. She ended up finding a position as a maid to a wealthy noble family. Julia, being of age at the time, decided she wanted to stay in their village and marry with a boy she had been enamored with for a very long time.

Eileen took up a place in the kitchens of the manor house. She had originally been assigned the duty of emptying chamber pots and lighting fires, but the cook took to her and asked for her in the kitchen. That duty was no place for a young lady.

Eileen loved working in the kitchen. It was a lovely place filled with wonderful smells, and she worked hard at it. Cook said that there had been no harder worker in her kitchen for years. Things stayed like this for a few more years, and right before Eileen's 19th birthday, misfortune struck again.



It started with one person, and then a few more came down with the fever, family and servants alike. The kitchen was busy nonstop with preparing soup, and hot water. Even Eileen's mother came down with it.

If Maria couldn't work, then it was unlikely that they could afford a doctor, and the doctors were in the business of treating the richer patients first.

Eileen decided to work harder in her mother's absence, trying to do both of their duties. If she could make more money, maybe they could afford a doctor.

This kept up until one day, some strangers showed up at her kitchen door, claiming they'd come to test her for entrance into Everthorne Academy. At first, Eileen refused to go, protesting her mother was sick and that she couldn't leave her, but once they had proven she did have the aptitude for magic, she had no choice but to go.

Eileen is a hard worker, and is always looking to please people. She likes helping people, but is very naïve and easily taken in. She has a tendency to overwork herself and has to be forced to rest at times when she feels she isn't doing well enough for her standards.

Upon arriving at Everthorne, she decides that it would be easier to work hard than to sulk. Sometimes she can be very sensible.

Eileen has long, dark hair usually left down these days. She wears a sad expression and is often homesick.
